Modular Training Course
All drivers and staff involved in the distribution of oil products and dangerous or hazardous goods. All ADR qualified personnel involved in the operation of vehicles or fleets of vehicles carrying dangerous or hazardous goods.

Course Format
The qualification has been designed to offer the maximum flexibility for clients and for their staff.
Learning is based around a detailed Course Handbook produced by PTF Training structured to enable students to work at their own individual pace (or with colleagues) and to take advantage of a unique combination of distance learning, on the job training and classroom based tutorials.
Students will be invited to complete written assignments which will be evaluated, marked and returned to them indicating whether satisfactory progress is being made, or any areas which would benefit from further study.
Course Content
The training covers the syllabus issued by the SQA. The delegates are prepared for the examination to gain the vocational certificate.
There are three areas specified by the examination syllabus:
- Legislation - General
- Legislation - Road Transport
- Delivery Procedures
- Risk Assessment
- Dealing with Emergencies
- Basic Communication Skills
- On the Road Risk Management
- Driver Coaching
- The Importance of Presentation to Customers
- Personal Development
- One Class paper is required.
The Qualification
Designing this course to meet the exacting standards set by BTEC (The Business and Technology Education Council) has enabled PTF Training to meet two key objectives:
- To offer a course meeting an internationally recognised standard
- One which permits the student to qualify in progressive stages
The full qualification, the BTEC Advanced Diploma, will be achieved by the student satisfying the examiner that the study relating to each of the three stages of the course has been satisfactorily completed.
Course Duration
The minimum number of hours of study that will be involved in respect of each stage is shown below:

Location
Work and home study with modular workshops run nationally at locations to suit clients.
